Prices and opening hours

No day off. The museum is closed on: January 1, Easter (Sunday), December 24 and 25.

Payment for entrance tickets, as well as for printed publications and souvenirs at the stand and cash desk of the National History Museum, can be made in cash or cashless - through a POS terminal or by bank transfer.

Advantage for talk have the groups with advance request which is valid until 20 minutes after the agreed time. Groups include up to 25 people.

(winter 01.10 - 31.03), 09:30 - 18:00 (checkout until 17:15)
(summer 01.04 - 30.09), 09:30 - 19:00 (checkout until 18:15)

Individual visits:

  • individual visitors – BGN 12.00
  • pupils and students – BGN 3.00
  • pensioners and persons over 65 – BGN 5
  • visitors accompanied by children:
    Price for an adult – BGN 5.00.
    Price for children over 7 years – BGN 3.00.

Group visits:

  • For groups of 10 or more visitors - BGN 10.00.

Combined tickets valid within 1 month:

• Boyan Church - NIM - BGN 15.00.
• Boyan Church - NIM - Zemensky Monastery "St. John the Theologian" – BGN 18.00


Guided talks

In the presence of free museum tour guides, it is not allowed to lead tourist groups by external guides on the territory of the National History Museum.

Requests for a visit with a guided tour in Bulgarian, English, French, German, Russian or Japanese are accepted at least two weeks before the date of visit.

Overview talk 
(duration – 1 hour and 30 minutes):

• in a foreign language – BGN 35.00
• in Bulgarian with translation - BGN 25.00

Conversation for children of preschool age, students and students: (duration – 1 hour):

  • in Bulgarian - BGN 15.00
  • in a foreign language – BGN 35.00
  • interactive talk in Bulgarian – BGN 20.00

Talk for visitors with children (duration – 1 hour):

  • in Bulgarian - BGN 15.00
  • in a foreign language – BGN 35.00

Talk for people with special needs (duration – 1 hour):

Preferential prices:

• September 17 - Sofia Day - free entry for children, schoolchildren and students, for all others BGN 3.
• November 1 - Day of the People's Alarm Clocks - free entry for children, schoolchildren and students, for all others BGN 3.

On the territory of the National History Museum, the following items, which can be left in a wardrobe, are prohibited:
– voluminous backpacks and bags
– food and drinks in the halls
– melee and firearms
