Each day, participants will get to know a part of the museum's work. Museum specialists (archaeologists, ethnographers, tour guides, etc.) will tell and demonstrate their work.

From 19th to 30th June (weekdays only) in the Museum Education Center of the National History Museum, "Summer Vacation at the Museum" will be held. Each day, participants will get to know a part of the museum's work. Museum specialists (archaeologists, ethnographers, tour guides, etc.) will tell and demonstrate their work. Participants will follow the path of an exhibit from its discovery to its presentation in the museum windows. This will happen through thematic talks, applied workshops, demonstrations and games. With the acquired knowledge, the participants will arrange their exhibition in the museum. For the finale, they will take on the role of a tour guide and tell about their treasures in the museum.

Suitable for children between 7 and 13 years old
19.06.2023 - Ethnography (Genesis, kinship memory, genealogy)
On this day, children will learn about the meaning of the concepts of family, kinship ties, memory; they will also become familiar with the hierarchy in the genus as part of everyday life. They will then draw up their own family tree.
20.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX - Ethnography (Agriculture)
The participants will learn about agriculture as a part of the life of Bulgarians and a main activity in the past. The traditions of different important parts in the cultivation of the land, the relationship between man and nature and the different practices. Beliefs related to fertility, and then they themselves will decorate a ceramic pot in which they will plant seeds.
21.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX - Ethnography (Livestock)
The children will get to know the other important industry in the household and people's lives in the past - animal husbandry. It will also tell how important a part it is in the daily life of people who make their own living. They will then ferment milk themselves and be introduced to the sequence of the process by which milk becomes sour.
22.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX – Exhibition activity
Participants will get to know the work in the museum - from how an exhibition is prepared to how it is presented to the audience. They will prepare their exhibition - from annotations to the arrangement of objects in a showcase.
23.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX – Tour guide at the museum
The children will get to know the work of the tour guides - how they prepare for a talk, what they need to know in order to work, and finally they will open their exhibition.
26.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX - Archaeology
In this day of the camp, the children will learn about the work of archaeologists in the museum, what they do, how they reach their discoveries and everything related to archaeology, and then they will have a themed workshop related to this activity.
27.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX - Restoration
Participants will learn about the work and activities of restorers, how they work, how they restore various exhibits. They will then restore their item themselves.
28.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX - Advertisement
The children will get to know how the PR-department presents the activities and work in the museum. How to write publications, how to present certain activities abroad, how to organize visits, etc. Colleagues from this department will demonstrate to them how to work in these environments. After that, they will take the place of PR themselves and prepare their own presentation.
29.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX – Exhibition activity
Participants will learn about museum work, from how an exhibition is prepared to how it is presented to an audience, preparing their exhibition from annotations to arranging objects in a display case.
30.06.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX – Tour guide at the museum
The children will get to know the work of the tour guides - how they prepare for a talk, what they need to know in order to work, and finally they will open their exhibition.
