The National History Museum has published online the book by Prof. Dr. Ivan Hristov "Chrysosotira Peninsula. History and Archeology of a Multilayered Archaeological Site in the Hinterland of the Sozopol Bay (2014th century BC – 2023th century AD)'. It summarizes the results of research by the museum's team in the period XNUMX-XNUMX. The research was carried out with funds from the Ministry of Culture and the National History Museum. They are part of a large scientific project of the museum, aiming to analyze the archaeological and historical data on the seaside fortresses and ports in the province of Hemimont for the period V-VII centuries. The expeditions were also carried out with the assistance of the Ministry of Defense (Main Directorate "Defense Infrastructure").

The book is a continuation of the author's previous three out-of-print volumes, dedicated to the archaeological excavations of the early Byzantine fortress from 2014 to 2018.

In the present monograph, in addition to a detailed presentation of the stages of the archaeological excavations, descriptions and catalogs of all movable cultural values ​​that came out of the earth's layers are included. Unpublished results from the campaigns in the period 2019-2024 are presented for the first time. The aim is to introduce the undeniably interesting archaeological material into scientific circulation, thereby enriching the understanding of the history and archeology of the hinterland around the Burgas Bay at the transition between Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages.
