
Collection "Photographs from the period 1878 - 1944."
The collection includes over 3900 inventory items. The photographs reflect events and personalities from the period 1878 – 1944 and are extremely diverse.
Photographs related to famous political, public and cultural figures occupy a significant share in the collection. The images of the rulers of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom - Prince Alexander I, Prince (Tsar) Ferdinand I and Tsar Boris III, as well as members of their families - have been preserved. Photos of politicians such as Stefan Stambolov, Dragan Tsankov, Alexander Malinov, Konstantin Muraviev, Atanas Burov, Alexander Girginov, Stoyan Kosturkov, Bogdan Filov, etc. stand out; cultural figures such as the artist Ivan Nenov and his wife Ekaterina Nenova, the actresses Adriana Budevska and Elisaveta Jovovich, the poet Elisaveta Bagryana, the director Vasil Gendov, Stefan Makedonski, etc.; scientists such as Prof. Vasil Zlatarski, Academician Gavril Katsarov, Prof. Marin Drinov, Prof. Hristo Vakarelski; military figures such as generals Radko Dimitriev, Nikifor Nikiforov, Stefan Paprikov, Ivan Fichev, Stefan Tasev, Kliment Boyadzhiev, etc., diplomats such as Dimitar and Ivan Stanchovi, Pancho Hadjimishev and Nikola Rizov. Interesting is the series of photographs of gatherings of the followers of the White Brotherhood, as well as of Teacher Petar Danov.
The collection includes numerous photos from the wars of 1912 - 1918, representing moments of combat actions of various military units of the Bulgarian army and those that illustrate moments of relaxation for the soldiers.
Postcards with views of Bulgarian and foreign villages and natural landmarks make up an interesting and significant part of the collection. Greeting cards and greetings on the occasion of Christmas, New Year, Easter also have a certain place.

Below them in the center is the Manifesto for the Declaration of Independence and below it - a photo of the church "St. 40 Martyrs" in Veliko Tarnovo, in which Bulgaria was declared an Independent Kingdom.
