The Kazanlak tomb is located in the northeastern part of the modern city of Kazanlak. It fell into the territories of the military-political union of the Thracian Odris state and is valued today as one of the masterpieces of early Hellenistic art.

After the discovery of the tomb in April 1944, various activities aimed at the conservation, restoration and exhibition of the monument were undertaken, exclusively related to the preservation of the mural decoration. Subsequently, the idea was adopted to build an exact copy of the tomb, which was carried out in 1973 - 1974.

Due to its great historical, artistic and scientific value, preserved authenticity and ensured protection, the Kazanlak Tomb was declared a World Cultural Heritage monument in October 1979.
