European Night of Museums 2023
will be held on May 13th
In the year in which the National History Museum celebrates its 50th anniversary, it will participate in the Night of the Museums with a number of exhibitions and initiatives.
The main highlight of the program on May 13 will be the jubilee exhibition "50 of 50", which is dedicated to the half-century history of the National History Museum. Visitors will be able to follow the development of the largest museum institution in Bulgaria through exhibits, photographs and documents from the museum's holdings. Each year it will be presented, through a leading event, which shows the variety of activities of the museum specialists.
An important place in the program will be occupied by the performative show "The Museum in Dance". It aims to link exhibits from the permanent exhibitions and the language of contemporary dance in a beautiful performance. The main principle on which the structure of the performance will be built is the assembly of attractions. Nine dances tied into one common picture. The performance sets the idea of a walk in the museum at night. Through the magic of dance, the exhibits come alive. Each dance is independent in its composition and idea, but together they will contribute to a magical experience in the night of the museums.
The performative show "The Museum in Dance" will be performed by young artists from "Quartz" OOD. The purpose of this organization, established at the end of 2020, is to provide an opportunity for artists to freely distribute, including in digital format, their works from the various fields of art and to provide a platform to be an online stage for them.
