In the period April - June 2023, Tsvetina Docheva, a restorer from the team of the Central Laboratory for Conservation and Restoration at the National History Museum, had the incredible opportunity to participate in a professional internship program to increase qualifications in Ancient Corinth, Greece. The conservation project is being carried out on Roman wall paintings found during archaeological excavations by the American School of Classical Studies at Athens (ASCSA). There she is part of the Centro di Conservazione Archeologica, Rome (CCA) team headed by Roberto Nardi.

The internship program starts in the current year 2023 and is aimed only at Bulgarian experts in the field of restoration and conservation. The program was inspired by the excellent impressions and joint work of its leader Roberto Nardi with the Bulgarian restorers.

Within three months, restorer Tsvetina Doncheva worked in an international team of Italians, Greeks, Americans, etc. She has had the unique opportunity to work mostly on Roman wall paintings in a laboratory, as well as on Roman mosaics in situ on excavations.

The professional internship for Bulgarian experts in the field of restoration and conservation in Ancient Corinth, Greece lasts 3 months, and in September 2023, two more restorers from Bulgaria are leaving to join the program.
