The road of the Boteva Cheta: Kozloduyski beach

17 May 1876:

After kissing the ground, the flag and the cross (made of crossed sabers) with the words: "I swear that I will die for my fatherland Bulgaria!", the Chetniks head to Kozloduy. Divided into two groups - one, led by Botev, enters the village directly, and the other, led by Nikola Voinovski, makes a detour. In Kozloduy, they were joined by the teacher Mladen Pavlov and provided with "14 cars and 12 horses" according to the Chetnik Nikola Kyuchukov. Around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the two groups meet at Mateev's geran, where they quench their thirst and head south to the village of Butan.
