Romania joins the Allied War, June 28, 1913.

Taking advantage of the lack of Bulgarian troops on the northern border, who at that moment were fighting heavy battles against Serbia and Greece, the Romanian army advanced into Bulgaria. On June 28, the Romanian 5th Corps invaded southern Dobrudja, and a few days later the main forces of the army crossed the Danube River and occupied a large part of northern Bulgaria without encountering resistance. Separate vanguard detachments pass through Stara planina and reach a few kilometers from Sofia. The inclusion of Romania in the Inter-Allied War on the side of Bulgaria's opponents contributed greatly to the defeat of the Kingdom in the conflict with its former allies.
