In 1994, Bulgaria joined the NATO initiative "Partnership for Peace". After completion of internal political changes in Bulgaria, on 17.02.1997, the Council of Ministers decided on Bulgaria's full membership in NATO. In 1999, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic became part of NATO {3}. After several years of discussions, on 21.11.2002, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were officially invited to join NATO. On March 18.03.2004, XNUMX, Bulgaria officially ratified the North Atlantic Treaty.
