The glass treasure from the depths of the Black Sea.
A working group from the National History Museum has completed its work as a project partner of the Center for Underwater Archaeology, MK, "The glass treasure from the depths of the Black Sea. Presentation of a unique collection of glass vessels found underwater in the Burgas Bay". Within the framework of the project, financed by the Ministry of Culture, a temporary exhibition was organized in RIM Burgas, presenting a complex of Venetian post-medieval glass vessels discovered in Chengene Skele Bay. The NIM participated in the project with valuable finds from its fund, and the museum team - with work on documentation and conservation of the finds, chemical analyses, preparation of posters, etc. Due to the great interest, the exhibition will continue until the spring of 2022 in RIM Burgas, and then probably in other museums in the country.
A highlight of the project was the publication of studios with a catalog part in Bulgarian and English, which will be distributed free of charge and freely on the websites of the individual institutions - partners in the project. The team from NIM worked on the creation of the scientific texts, the catalog and the album part.
