Restored bronze kneelers from the region of Satovcha, Blagoevgrad region
At the end of 2021, the restoration of a pair of bronze kneelers from the region of Satovcha, Blagoevgrad was completed.
The extremely rare and beautiful exhibits - property of the National History Museum were found almost destroyed as a result of immanent intervention. The cnemids were handed over to the museum badly deformed and fragmented way back in 1995.
They were probably part of the burial gifts of a warrior from the XNUMXth century BC. They are made of quality bronze, as individual defensive weapons. With the help and exceptional talent and professionalism of the restorer Georgi Iliev from RIM Yambol, the monuments were able to regain their original appearance.
The restoration of the knee pads was carried out as part of a project: "Restoration, conservation and display of ancient artifacts from the NIM fund" led by Pavlina Devlova, realized with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.
